The print edition was originally published in 2010, while the e-book was published in 2011 and updated to include the latest algorithms from the American Heart Association.

E-book Devices and Software

The e-book is available as an EPUB file (.epub) and is readable using specific software and devices. Note that this EPUB file is digital-rights managed and copyright protected with security settings that prevent printing and copying of content.

You can read an EPUB file on a PC or Mac computer* with free downloadable Adobe Digital Editions software.

Downloading and Accessing the E-book

After purchasing the e-book, you will receive a confirmation email containing a link to access the product, and detailed instructions for downloading. You should receive your confirmation email within 30 minutes of your purchase.

IMPORTANT: To open and activate an e-book that you purchase from AAOMS, you will need to install the free Adobe Digital Editions software on your computer and create an Adobe ID with a username and password. Please keep track of this information, as you will need an active Adobe ID account to authorize e-books for use on several eReaders and apps.

Once it has been downloaded to your device, you will no longer need to log in every time you want to read it, as it will remain accessible through the software on your device. However, you will need to enter your Adobe ID username and password if you want to access it from a different device. Adobe Digital Editions allows a user to transfer e-books to up to 6 authorized devices.
